Per quanto riguarda l’incombente edizione di Novembre, la canzone che rappresenterà l’Italia al The Countdown Song Contest è stata scelta da me fra le seguenti, rigorosamente in ordine alfabetico:

Possiamo dire che gli Xela sono la fusione di due Band: da una parte Alex e Alessio, dall’altra Luciano e Fiamma.

L’incontro è casuale ed avviene in un locale della provincia di Varese durante una jam-session.

Tra i quattro ragazzi nasce una forte intesa musicale che li spinge ad intraprendere una collaborazione parallela ai due progetti già esistenti, fatta inizialmente da episodi sporadici che man mano diventano sempre più frequenti.

Iniziano i primi concerti nei pub della provincia di Varese e Milano che mostrano da subito la grande energia live e la voglia di proporre qualcosa di diverso dalle solite cover. Nasce così l’idea di rivisitare i brani secondo uno stile che si definirà più avanti come lo stile Xela.

Dopo qualche concerto come cover band, Alex capisce che forse è arrivato il momento di tirar fuori dal cassetto dei brani scritti da lui in passato e decide di proporli.

Qui avviene la vera svolta e la decisione di trovare un nome che possa definire uno stile personale.

La proposta di Alex è quella di utilizzare il nome con cui firmava i suoi pezzi anche per la band.

I ragazzi accettano con grande entusiasmo!

Gli Xela abbandonano così le loro precedenti “attività” per potersi dedicare completamente al progetto; a questo punto diventa prioritario trovare un produttore in grado di valorizzare il potenziale della band.

Così l’incontro con il produttore Giuliano Boursier, che decide di realizzare un intero album di dieci tracce.

Dopo un intenso lavoro di rielaborazione sulla scrittura dei brani e la definizione di un sound che caratterizza la band, Giuliano Boursier crede che gli Xela siano pronti per affrontare il mercato discografico.

Il singolo degli Xela, “Venere di cenere”, sarà lanciato nelle radio in Aprile 2009, accompagnato dal videoclip girato interamente a Londra con la regia di Gaetano Morbioli.
Il primo album degli Xela sarà ad Ottobre in tutti i negozi di dischi fisici e digitali.
